Is It Worth It Getting The New iPod Touch?

Apple will also be announcing the release of a new iPod Nano 4 G on Tuesday. Apple says it may offer the feature in the future. Apple’s much-anticipated launch of the iPod touch this week heralds a new era for Apple’s wildly popular line of music and video players. The iPod, which emerged first as nothing more than a portable music player — albeit one dripping in cool — grew up to become a music and video device in adolesence and is now a semi-full featured Internet tablet device.

Ford’s Mykey – A great safety mileston

As the parent of a teenager, I am always on pins and needles when my 19 year old daughter is out and about town. And the statistics on teenage car crashes and deaths want me to write to congress to raise the drivers license age limit to 21 instead of 16. (I wonder WHO passed the law that allowed a 16 year old to get a drivers license.)

Financial Markets in Turmoil, how will it affect India Outsourcing?

The news in the US is bleak, bank after bank is in trouble, an $800B bailout package is awaiting approval. And everyone is feeling the crunch in the US.

And so are the companies in India, feeling the crunch that is. Tata Consultancy has begun making changes to save money. The changes include simple things like restricted travel and surprisingly strange changes like potentially removing Microsoft office from PC’s, according to this report. Other companies are seeing their revenues shrink. People are worried and rightly so.

But experts differ in their opinion (no surprise there) of whether outsourcing will grow or shrink after the crisis passes.

I like Sarah Palin!

Earlier during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) I posted my appreciation of Hillary’s speech and someone sent me a comment asking me if I was a feminist because I only commented on Hillary’s speech and not on the speeches given by others at the DNC.

Well, I’m not a feminist.

However I am a supporter of women and promote women’s empowerment. And now since Hillary has had to step backstage, I’m happy to see a new female leader emerge on the political landscape in the form of Sarah Palin.

And although Senator Obama, Governor Giuliani, Senator Biden, and Senator McCain, and many other “men” did a wonderful job speaking at their respective conventions, I think that Sarah Palin held her own against the men.

I’m sure that all these speeches, like Sarah Palin’s, were written by experience speech writers.  But given that this was Sarah Palin’s first foray on the international political platform, I think she deserves kudos for delivering a speech with as much eloquence as Obama and Giuliani.

But there is much more to admire about Sarah Palin that just that Veep candidate speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC). Her outdoor adventurous side, the fact that she entered (and won) a beauty contest just so she could get scholarship money to pay for college tuition, and her fight to clean up Alaskan politics, are a few reasons for why she will become a great role model for women and young girls of this generation.

And as a woman, I’m interested in seeing more women like Palin take center stage and become known for their accomplishments, just like the men are. Whether she becomes the VP or not, Sarah Palin is writing new history for women in the US.
